About

We run regular events for the youth in our local churches across the town. This is an opportunity for our young people to make new friends, learn and grow in their faith, have fun times together and to feel part of something bigger across the town.

So far we have had young people attend from the following churches across our town:- Elim, Kingdom Advance Network (KAN), New Baptist, New Testament Church, New Wine, Riverside, St Chad’s, St Mary’s (Stretton), St Saviour’s, The Community Church (TCC), St Peter’s (Hartshorne) and St George’s (Gresley).

All event information is sent to local churches and youth leaders as well as posted on our Facebook page.  If you would also like to be kept up to date with events for young people across the town, please email Sue at sue.jolley@burton-yfc.co.uk

Past Events

In October 2014 we ran ‘Girls Night In / Boys Night Out’, which was attended by 24 young people from six different local churches. The girls gathered for a deluxe pamper night complete with cocktails, ice cream parlour, pampering products and an opportunity to look at self-worth and image. The lads headed off to Etwall Farm for a night under the stars with campfire worship. Check out our media page for photos.

In February 2015 we opened our Star-Buds Cafe, numbers doubled to 49 young people from 13 different churches. Based on Starbucks Cafe, we served great food with delicious cakes; it was fantastic to see so many young people getting to know other youth from across the town. We spent some time looking at how to be a good friend – whether that be with God, close friends, acquaintances or on social media. We also had an awesome photo-shoot at the end. Check out our media page for photos.

In May 2015 we chilled out at ‘Time Out‘, and gave the young people a chance to hang out together mid exams for an afternoon and evening at The Orchard Campsite in Tatenhill.  A few mad games, bouncy castle assault course, great food and worship made it an event to remember, especially as young people took time away by themselves to listen to God before sharing around the campfire as we toasted marshmallows.  There were some fantastic photos taken so do check out our media page for photos.

On June 27th June we took a ‘Coach Trip‘ to Soul Survivor Watford for one of their ‘Evening Celebrations‘. We took 27 young people from 11 different churches down to the Church in Watford and had a great time.
