Our desire is to serve local churches as they look to input into young people, particularly for the church youth workers who give so sacrificially to the young people in their care.
We are able to facilitate training for volunteer youth teams, assist in strategy discussions, offer prayer support or deliver one-off youth group sessions as part of your ongoing programme.
STAFFORDSHIRE SAFEGUARDING CHILDREN BOARD – SAFEGUARDING CHILDREN LEVEL 1 TRAINING
Our heart is that Burton will become the safest and best place for children and young people to grow up in. We believe that the Church has a huge part to play in this and can play a vital role in keeping our children safe. We can now deliver this certificate to up to 24 people at a time. We need three hours to allow for discussion time and a break in the middle. It’s good practice to have face to face training for your youth and children’s teams every three years at least. New recruits need to complete safeguarding training as part of safer recruitment procedures. It’s a great way for your teams to get together, discuss issues relevant to your setting and update on best practice.
You can access level 1 e-learning training for free through the Staffordshire Safeguarding Children Board website as part of SCYVS. (see below).
For more information or to book us in email Sue Garb email@example.com
Our National YFC team (British YFC) also have some great resources on offer – www.yfcresources.co.uk and sign up for a free trial.
Also consider becoming a member group of Staffordshire Council of Voluntary Youth Services. www.staffscvys.org.uk They provide free training such as First Aid and Food Hygiene, can facilitate your DBS checks and can help with funding and advice on youth work in general.
We have held youth worker network evenings – but are aware of not wanting to create more meetings for people whose time is already stretched…… so please get in touch if you have a particular need or just want to chat through something. If we can’t help we may know someone who can!
