We have a huge heart for the local Church and love to serve it. We offer a number of ways in which we can support or guide you. See below some of the things we offer or get in touch with us at the office 01283 531722.
Since Feb 2016 we have been running a regular cafe called ‘StarBuds’, serving delicious cakes and drinks at different church venues across the town, each with a different theme or activity. We have a good attendance of young people from 15 different churches come to the cafe, and have had the most amazing time building relationships with each other and with God.
Check out our upcoming Star-Buds events below, both our regular ‘Star-Buds Café Nights’ and our newly introduced ‘Star-Buds Extra’ worship nights.
Support & Training
Our desire is to serve local churches as they look to input into young people, particularly for the church youth & children’s workers who give so sacrificially to the young people in their care.
We are able to facilitate training for volunteer teams, assist in strategy discussions, offer prayer support or deliver one-off youth group sessions as part of your ongoing programme.
STAFFORDSHIRE SAFEGUARDING CHILDREN BOARD – SAFEGUARDING CHILDREN LEVEL 1 TRAINING
Our heart is that Burton will become the safest and best place for children and young people to grow up in. We believe that the Church has a huge part to play in this and can play a vital role in keeping our children safe. We can now deliver this certificate to up to 24 people at a time. We need three hours to allow for discussion time and a break in the middle. It’s good practice to have face to face training for your youth and children’s teams every three years at least. New recruits need to complete safeguarding training as part of safer recruitment procedures. It’s a great way for your teams to get together, discuss issues relevant to your setting and update on best practice.
You can access level 1 e-learning training for free through the Staffordshire Safeguarding Children Board website as part of SCYVS. (see below).

We would love the opportunity to visit your local church to encourage and inspire by sharing our stories of how God is working amongst the young people of our town – within churches, schools and the wider community.
We can deliver an inspiring and challenging message for an adult or youth group, lead worship or creative prayer, bring a child-friendly message to an all-in style service, lead a small group discussion – whatever is most relevant and useful to you in your context.
We believe that the local Church can play a vital role in the lives of children and young people. Sometimes we just need a reminder to keep on keeping on!
We are so grateful for the generous support of local churches through prayers, volunteering and financial support. When we get the chance to meet the people who so faithfully support our work and share more of the work that we are involved in we’re so encouraged.
